Te Pā Tū, a vibrant beacon of Māori culture nestled in scenic Tumunui, seeks enthusiastic and committed individuals to deliver our unique, seasonally-tailored visitor experiences. Our offerings, imbued with Māori history, traditions, and stories, are curated to reflect the rhythms of the Maramataka, Māori lunar calendar. This powerful connection to the time-honoured celestial cycle further enriches our array of provenanced kai, offering our visitors an authentic taste of Māori culture.

Job Description

Our ideal candidates will have:

  • A robust background in tourism and hospitality
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • A profound respect and appreciation for Māori culture
  • While fluency in Te Reo Māori would certainly enhance your interactions with our guests, it is not a prerequisite for the role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging narrative accurately representing Māori culture, history, and traditions.
  • Provide warm, welcoming, and exceptional service to all visitors.
  • Effectively communicate with diverse visitor groups, tailoring explanations, and narratives to their level of understanding and interest. 
  • Coordinating and hosting events, functions, and private offers, ensuring guests feel welcomed and informed.
  • Respond knowledgeably to visitor queries providing educational and insightful answers.
  • Uphold strict safety standards in all visitor areas, ensuring the wellbeing of guests at all times.
  • Work closely with other operating departments to deliver an integrated visitor experience, including liaising with reservations, logistics, cultural and food and beverage teams.
  • Collect and report on visitor feedback, to continuously improve our services and offerings
