Tauhara North No.2 Trust was founded on its whakapapa, whenua, and whānau connections. As kaitiaki for the whenua we have developed the geothermal resources with the whakataukī to hold fast to the land and make use of our land for the wellbeing of ngā uri whakatipuranga. Since 1991 when the Trust was formed, the investment diversification for the trust has grown to include farming, horticulture, geothermal energy and tourism.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Kaiawhina at Tauhara North No.2 Trust who will play a crucial role managing the safety of our rangatahi. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at keeping our rangatahi safe and secure at night during their camp experience with us.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring the premises to ensure security and safety protocols are upheld throughout the night.
- Assisting rangatahi with any needs or concerns that arise during the night, providing support as necessary
- Conducting regular inspections of facilities and sleeping areas.
- Responding promptly to incidents or emergencies, following established procedures to manage situations effectively.
- Maintaining accurate records of nightly activities, incidents and any maintenance issues that require attention.
- Collaborating with other kaimahi to ensure seamless communication across shifts
Required skills:
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
- Able to work overnight while staying alert and responsive
- Able to adapt to the kaupapa, tikanga and flow associated with our camp programmes
Required experiences:
- Experience in supporting rangatahi is beneficial
- Previous experience in a night shift or similar role would be an advantage
- Experience in risk management and ensuring participant safety during activities
- Familiarity with first aid and health and safety requirements
