Tauhara North No.2 Trust was founded on its whakapapa, whenua, and whānau connections. As kaitiaki for the whenua we have developed the geothermal resources with the whakataukī to hold fast to the land and make use of the land for the wellbeing of Ngā uri whakatipuranga. Since 1991 when the Trust was formed their investment diversification has grown to include farming, horticulture, geothermal energy and tourism.
The Kaiwhakahaere (Night Manager) is a leadership role that oversees the operations during the night shift during our Rangatahi camps, ensuring a smooth service for both staff and TN2T Tamariki. This position requires a proactive approach to management and a solid commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support Kaiawhina (Night Staff) providing guidance and training where required
- Coordinate and communicated with Kaiawhina and Camp Leads to ensure adequate cover during night shifts.
- Conduct regular checks to maintain safety and standards
- Implement and enforce camp policies and procedures to ensure a secure environment for rangatahi.
- Address rangatahi concerns, conflicts or emergencies with professionalism and care
- Maintain open communication with Camp leaders and daytime kaimahi regarding issues and incidents.
Review and document all incidents, kaimahi and rangatahi feedback to ensure continuous improvement. This role demands leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of operational procedures within the education sector. The Kaiwhakahaere must be able to work independently while also being an integral part of the broader Manaaki team.

Required experiences
- Be registered with Tauhara North No.2 Trust, but not necessary
- Experience with rangatahi (youth) programmes or working with rangatahi (youth) and previous supervisory experience and night shift roles are beneficial
- First aid and health and safety experience is advantageous
- Experience working night shifts or unsociable hours
- Experience in staff supervision and training
- Demonstrated ability to implement operational procedures successfully
